An instructive trail on the traces of our ancestors
Voyage to the heart of our origins
Nested in a shelter of foliage and situated between two cliffs in the heart of the Vézère Valley you are going to discover in this astounding prehistoric park, real size scenes, accompanied by sound, of the daily life of the first Neandertal hunter/gatherers and of the Cro-Magnon man.
You will immerse yourself in their lifestyle and habits on the very spot where they lived some 35 000 years ago and you will notice the diversity of the animals of prehistory.
This park of prehistory is meant to be a pedagogic and playful space, open to everybody.
Explanatory panels, placed along the trail, make a scientific and instructive approach possible to the daily life of prehistoric man at this site.
Its set-up was supervised by Professor Heim, an anthropologue of fossil man at the National Museum of Natural History taking into account the latest discoveries.
